Outreach
Members of St. John’s have played a role in the establishment and nurture of many of the community ministries of Ocean Springs and Jackson County. The parish is currently focusing on the following ministries:
Samaritan Ministries of Jackson County
St John’s is the co-founder of Samaritan Ministries of Jackson County. An ecumenical relief agency funded by member churches who share a mutual call to assist the homeless and needy of our community. For information on how you can volunteer, contact Cindy Johnson.
The Lord is My Help
The Lord is my Help serves nutritious meals each weekday from its facility in Ocean Springs and sponsors a Meals on Wheels program. For information on how you can volunteer, contact Peggy Butera. For more information online, visit www.facebook.com/thelordismyhelp.
Rebekah's House
The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean Springs is now "Rebekah's House." Rebekah's House helps empower, educate, and mobilize homeless families with children to achieve self-sufficiency. For information on how you can volunteer, contact the Parish Office.
Boys and Girls Clubs of America
Boys and Girls Clubs of America enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. For information on Jackson and George Counties, Mary B. Ruddiman's Unit, and how you can volunteer contact the Parish Office.
